They did a lipid test on me but don't know how to read results cholesterol 150, trig 155, hdl 31, chol/hdl ratio 4.84, ldl 88 , non hdl 119. good or bad?

Average: Your HDL chol is low- the only way to improve is to exercise daily and to keep ideal body weight. Keep the LDL level around 70 if you have strong fh of coronary artery disease. Your triglycerides are borderline high which can be corrected by daily exercise and proper diet.(low in carbohydrate and sweets).

Not Ideal: Your triglyceride (tg) level is slightly high (over 150) and your hdl-c is low (under 40). This is a common problem. This often results in "normal" LDL cholesterol (ldl-c) levels (under 100) despite high LDL particle number (ldl-p). When ldl-p is high cardiovascular risk is elevated regardless of of ldl-c levels. I would check ldl-p (ideal would be less than 1000).
