How can I reduce the swelling from a sprained foot?

1 doctor answer
Dr. David Schleimer
37 years experience in Orthodontics
Ice, position, nsaid: It is best to stay off of a swollen foot. Bearing weight will make it worse. Try to raise the foot at or higher than the level of the heart. Use intermittent icing and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
