Not surprised.: Patients with hep c have a significantly increased risk of liver cancer. Therefore, any suspicious mass deserves a thorough workup. Us is a convenient screening study of the liver, but of often the findings are not specific. Typically, a properly performed MRI provides a much more specific and accurate assessment of the liver. I would discuss with your md to ensure he is confident with mr results.
