My ultrasound stated slightly increased hepatic echogenicity my mri found a cyst on left liver lobe. why didnt mri see fatty liver?? is it true increased hepatic echogenicity is linked to fatty liver hepatitis and cirrhosis?

US only shows slightly increased hepatic echogenicity so the specificity is low especially liver MRI does not detect fatty liver. Increased hepatic echogenicity can be present in different liver problems which include fatty liver and if not treated, it will progress to liver cirrhosis.
