Otitis Externa: It sounds like he has some form of otitis (externa) or possible draining otitis media with perforation. Regardless of whether he has a fever or not (most doctors consider >100.4 f a fever), he will need an exam by a physician and then likely need antibiotics. If you have a primary care doctor you can bring your child to that person or you can go to the emergency dept.

Not ER: These are worrisome but easily managed issues that can wait until your regular doc/clinic is available.If any trouble getting in, a walk in urgent care clinic can sort this out. I try to avoid taking kids to the car crash/heart attack/ knife/gun club if I can.They always get relegated to a low priority status & can spend hours waiting while exposed to lots of bad germs.
