Angioedema: Hives can cause deep swelling in the skin also called angioedema. Redness and warmth are part of angioedema. If the swelling is significant then numbness can occur. I recommend you see your doctor for treatment which may include antihistamines and possibly steroids.

Deep hives: Deep hives are also called angioedema. This can cause redness and warmth and if it is extensive enough, then numbness and tingling. See an allergist who may prescribe antihistamines like Allegra 180 mg per day and possibly zantac (ranitidine) 150 mg twice a day. Steroids may be needed.
