See below...: Ptsd & depression are 2 distinct syndromes or clusters of symptoms. They do, oftentimes, coexist & alternate prominence status. Both depression & ptsd can be due to the unfortunate trauma suffered. Please, keep working closely with ur therapist & psychiatrist. If not connected yet, you need to do so. Wishing you well!

Yes.: Ptsd involves avoidance and emotional numbing, and it can include feelings of guilt, shame, hopelessness and despair. That would feel like and look like depression. Also, studies show that approximately 80% of people with ptsd have other disorders, including depression, anxiety or substance abuse. It's always important for a therapist to ask about traumatic experiences.

Intermingling: What ever goes up must come down. This is also the case for ptsd. After long periods of hypervigilance & fight or flight- mode, the organism simply becomes exhausted with no energy to expend. There is low energy, lack of motivation, low sex -drive & often despondency & hopelessness.
