Therapy & meds: Medications can only treat symptoms and are not curative in ptsd. The most effective treatment is with an experienced therapist who specializes in the disorder. It is possible to get better, but not with medications alone.

Ur Personal Quest: Apart from communicating ur feelings w/ur doctor(s)/psychologist & staying in treatment, i wonder about viewing this time as an opportunity 2 ask urself what would make ur life better? More meaningful? U may not know the answers but grappling w/the questions might help u create the blueprint 4 greater contentment $ fulfillment. http://bit.ly/10qk7kl - 4 v. Difficult journey: Good for you in getting treatment! yet i'm unclear about what that has included beyond medications. Talk therapy? Emdr? Therapy is essential, and emdr or other type of processing (somatic experiencing, etc) can be very helpful. Also, there can be a conscious decision to re-write the story you're telling yourself about what's possible for you now -- despite what happened in the past. Peace to you.

PTSD: 1st have a physical exam to rule out a physical problem. Please consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy to help you with ZOOM.com sessions. With psychotherapy you can change & find better coping mechanisms for dealing with PTSD. There are a number of approaches that have been carefully researched and found successful, including the addition of EMDR.
