Mood vs trauma: Depression and anxiety are both mood disorders. PTSD is a disorder that occurs after severe life-threatening trauma. Anxiety and depression can and most of the time are part of PTSD. Depression and anxiety, on the other hand, do not at all have to be related to life threatening trauma.
