For : For our patients a bolster dressing is removed in one day, sutures removed in 1 week, work activities made commence at 2 weeks, and slow introduction can begin at three weeks. Of course these are generalizations as some otoplasty procedures are more extensive than others, but hopefully this helps. Be healthy and be well, james m. Ridgway, md.

A : A common routine is to have a bolster dressing placed right after surgery that is remove after one day. Your surgeon may recommend that you wear a head band after that (especially with kids) but this may only be at night. The sutures are usually removed about 1 week after surgery. You'll find that you can begin exercising a couple weeks after surgery (in general). Of course, follow the specific instructions of your surgeon.
