Not too long: Initial recovery from otoplasty and the anesthesia can take a few days to a week to feel back to normal, have pain subside, and bruising decrease. Depending on your surgeon's preference you will need to wear a head band over the ears continuously for 1-2 weeks and then typically at night for 4-6 weeks until healing is more solidified.

Quick: You will need to wear a head dressing for about a week. Afterwards, you will need to wear a headband, or sweatband, at night, to maintain the results. The ears will stay slightly red for several months after surgery and will be somewhat more sensitive to changes in temperature. http://www.dassmd.com/ear-pinning-beverly-hills.html.

One week: Most otoplasty patients return to work/ school/ social activities one week following surgery. You will need to wear a compression head band for the first week to minimize swelling and bruising but when that comes off, you should look great with minimal swelling/ bruising.

One week: Bandage one week. Can be seen in public afterwards. Soreness up to a month. No contact sports for 3 months. For best results, have procedure done by facial plastic surgeon.
