Headaches : Headaches are not an expected result after otoplasty, although it is possible that headaches may occur from wearing a head-wrap dressing or sleeping in an atypical position. If a headache were to occur, i would expect that it would be straightforward to control with over the counter medications.

I : I have never had a patient with that complaint and think it's probably very uncommon. I suppose one can get a headache after any procedure, but it may not be directly related. If you need otoplasty, then have it done, worry less. You would not fly panes if you thought of them falling. Good luck and be positive, from nyc.

Otoplasty healing: During the first day or two after otoplasty the patient might have headaches from bulky tight dressing. Later in the healing phase any headache needs to be investigated as it would not be normal. Rarely it can be from a suture or from a neuroma (abnormal growth of a severed nerve) which can be easily addressed.

Absent: Headaches are not a result of otoplasty aside from the pain associated with surgery or the head band which is very transient. For best results see a facial plastic surgeon for treatment.
