This : This can vary depending on the extent of the crown lenghtening and your body's ability to heal. In my office we usually allow a minimum of 8 weeks for the tissue to heal before taking a final impression.

I : I agree that you are best waiting 6 to 8 weeks prior to moving forward as the gums to need to heal completely prior to preparing the tooth for the crown and taking the impression.
