A member asked:

Can you tell me what to do if i had a root canal and now i need to get a crown. what's this whole crown process?

You do need crown: Crown required for 2 reasons. To seal the top of the root-canal treatment system and to preserve and support the remaining tooth structure. Dentist will reshape the top of the tooth so that it can be capped, surrounded with a strong, stable material to seal and strengthen the tooth. Please call your dentist for appointment.

1-2 appointments: After the root canal is completed and the tooth has no pain or discomfort, a crown preparation is done and impression is taken (appointment #1). The second appointment is permanent crown cementation. Some crowns are made in 1 appointment using the CEREC technology.
