Could : Could you please be more specific? It this "white thing" hard or soft? Is it above the area where the tooth was extracted? It could be a broken piece of tooth or bone, also it could be a draining infection. So hard to know for sure without an exam. Please go back to the dentist who extracted the tooth to have it evaluated.

It : It could also be the permanent tooth erupting into the mouth.

It : It could be an abcess but also a normal blanching of the gum tissue where the permanent tooth is approaching the surface. When in doubt, check it out.

White thing: Sorry. Nowhere in Dental Literature is a lesion named a "white thing." Before prescribing appropriate treatment the exact nature of the lesion has to be properly diagnosed. It may or may not be related to the infected tooth that was removed. She should return to her Dentist for a re-evaluation. More important, however, rather than putting out fires, she should have a comprehensive treatment plan.
