You : You need immediate medical care. A cat bit can transmit significant bacteria. Your hand is apparently infected. Hand infections can spread quickly from one compartment to another and cause permanent lack of function. Please go to the er now.

Cat : Cat bite, augmenting if not penciillin allergic, wash out may need an incision and drainage as the deep hole fills up quickly and bceria gets trapped below. Common bacterium are pasturella and skin staph. If its red and swollen get evaluated, get appropriate antibiotic that treat the typical organisms and have a low threshold for getting this washed out....Look up the hand surgeons in your area and be ready to call if you are not better...Better yet call now and worst thing that happens is that you get better rapidly with antibiotic and you cancel your hand surgeon appoiintment.
