How bad is it? so i went to my dentist/orthodontologist she took x-rays and she said i have lost some bone in l anterior area and she sent me to a specialist to evaluate and i just made an appoiment. is this something serious? are there any risk? i'm 21 y

It : It is serious enough to have a specialist look at your condition and decide what needs to be done to arrest the bone loss. At 21 Y.O., you should not have bone loss like this. The risks of not following what the specialist advises is loosing your teeth at a young age. You will now need to put time, effort, and funds into fixing and then maintaining your dental health. We want to prevent that and so we use specialist to help you. If saving your teeth is important ten this is a serious need. If you are concerned that there is any risk of pain or discomfort, then no. Yes: Glad your Dentist sent you for periodontal consultation. Bone loss in a 21 year old is serious and may be from diabetes, advancing teeth off of basal bone support, gum disease, or many other causes. Know that your Dentist may do tooth movement, but general Dentists are NOT Orthodontic Specialists. You may also need to consult with an Orthodontist.
