Yes: Glad your Dentist sent you for periodontal consultation. Bone loss in a 21 year old is serious and may be from diabetes, advancing teeth off of basal bone support, gum disease, or many other causes. Know that your Dentist may do tooth movement, but general Dentists are NOT Orthodontic Specialists. You may also need to consult with an Orthodontist.
