A bone spur is a: possibility along with inflammation, infection, underlying cyst. Perhaps a CT scan or MRI of that area is in order to detect the cause of the pain. Hope your pain goes away before you gobble up on that turkey. Best wishes!

More info needed: Has the pain been continuous since your extraction a year ago, or were you fine after the extraction and the pain started recently? Not sure what your radiographs show, but if your dentist cannot determine the cause of your discomfort, it would be wise to visit an oral surgeon for a second opinion.

Vague: Could be part of bone or actually a retained root tip that did not come out completely. An x-ray should hopefully show what is going on.

Yes, but...: ...pain can also be from other causes including, but not limited to, bone spur, chronic localized infection, tooth fragment, gum disease, infected adjacent tooth, referred pain, neoplasm, etc. if your Dentist cannot locate a definitive cause, evaluation by an Zoral Surgeon would be in order.
