Went to an orthopedic specialist to get my back and hip pain evaluated. the x-rays showed a small bone island. what does that mean? is it serious?

Benign : A bone island is a benign finding on a x-ray. The hip is a very common area to find them. Your orthopedist may order a MRI of your back and/or hip to better evaluate the cause of your pain.
