How much swelling will i have after chin liposuction? i've seen some people complaining that they looked worse after chin liposuction than before. does it really cause that much swelling?

The : The amount of swelling after any surgery can vary quite a bit depending on how extensive the procedure is. The swelling is usually that bad, but this is all relative. Ido find that wearing the compression chin strap dressing after surgery help clear the tissue swelling faster than if you don't wear it.

It varies.: The amount of sweilling depends. How your body responds to the injury is one of the primary factors. Tumescent liposuction helps decrease post operative swelling and bruising, as can adjunct treatments and medications. Swelling peaks in 24-48 hours, and resolves quickly. Residual swelling goes away gradually over several months. It is not possible to give you and estimate without seeing you.

Varies.: Liposuction surgery of any part of the body is associated with postoperative swelling that may last for several months. The majority of swelling resolves within the first 2 weeks. Full skin redraping may take several months and even up to one year to occur.

Garment: You need to wear a compressive garment after chin liposuction to prevent swelling. If you don't by gravity post operative fluid will build up under your chin and when it gets ultimately absorbed, will leave irregularities or lumps.
