Most : Most of the bruising and swelling subsides after 7-10 days. If you take it easy, keep your head elevated and use ice packs, swelling can be minimized. After the initial healing period, there may be some residual swelling but you should be sociable.

Mostly gone.: Bruising is more obvious than swelling, and that can take 7-10 days to resolve. It takes months for all the swelling to resolve and for the area to heal. Your results will depend how your body heals. If you have a large amount of fat, the improvement is usually immediate. If you have a small amount of fat, or loose skin, it will take longer to see improvement.

Longer: Although much of the swelling is gone within a few weeks, i tell patients that it may be a few months before all of the swelling has resolved and even longer before the skin has fully "redraped" after liposuction surgery.

4-6 weeks: At tat time, most of the visible swelling will be gone. However you may feel lumps or firmness for about two months and back to your normal neck at 6 months or so, because of the deep tissue healing.
