A member asked:

Does massage help with swelling and faster healing after a body lift? i've heard that some people get lymphatic massages after liposuction to speed healing and reduce swelling. does it help after a body lift as well?

There : There are no peer-reviewed long term studies that verify this, but there are some smaller studies that demonstrate benefit. If you see a licensed massage therapist there may be some benefit.

There : There are many practitioners who strongly advocate the use of manual lymphatic drainage. This theoretically improves the swelling and recovery.

Possibly: I think it plays a roll once the initial postoperative pain have subside to the point that massaging is comfortable. And yes, it should help with body lift as it does with lipo.

Massage: Helps to reduce swelling after lipo. It can be done by hand, or with a machine, like synergie or endermologie.
