I'm taking amitryptyline, neurontin (gabapentin) and naproxen for severe back pain and spasms. is it safe to take methocarbamol as well?

Yes: watch for sedation though. Don't drive until you know how sleepy you will get with the combination of Neurontin (gabapentin) and methocarbimal. ( assuming you take the amitryptyline at bedtime.
