You : You do not need to separate your child from the infected child's siblings. This is a very common virus that most kids have contracted by age 3. It is usually worse in kids under one; in kids older than one, if contracted would present like a common cold. The key for your son and for all the kids in this situation is handwashing. Frequent handwashing will help prevent the spread of the virus.

Good hand washing: Avoid sharing linens, glasses and close contact during the acute phase to lessen the chance of contracting the illness. Avoid contact with the elderly and young infants.
