A member asked:

My son is 16months old and weighs 24lbs. he was prescribed 15mg/5ml prednisolone 2.5ml 2x daily. is this too high of a dosage for rsv/wheezing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

RSV/wheezing: Dosage of prednisolone is 1-2 mg/kg/ 24 hours for 3 to 5 days. Your son's dosage is 1.3 mg/kg/24 hours. Dosage is not too high. Some physicians still use prednisolone with RSV bronchiolitis if asthma is also suspected.
