Chin : Chin implants are placed through a small incision either in the mouth or under the chin. The position of the implant is maintained by creating a precise pocket for the implant, and by either placing stitches from the implant to the tissue surrounding the bone (for silicone implants) or screws through the implant and into the bone (for hard, porous implants). All the best, dr. Skourtis.

The : The chin implant is placed after creating an accurate pocket. I then place three 4.0 clear nylon sutures between the implant and the periosteum lining the bone.

Chin Implant Secured: Chin implants are secured by placement inside a well-fitted pocket and anchoring it to surrounding tissue so it doesn't move. In addition a permanent stitch is placed to hold it in the midline position for silicone implants and for medpore implants a scew is used. The incision is then closed, and in 30 to 45 minutes the procedure is done, unless the patient has requested other procedures as well.

Making an exact: Pocket for the chin implant is the key surgical step. Think of it like a hand (the implant) fitting into a snugly-fitting glove (the pocket).
