I : I am glad you are getting a follow-up ct, but this is likely nothing to worry about. Renal cysts are incredibly common. They are found incidentally on studies all of the time. All you will likely need is good follow up so definitely keep your ct appointment, and get follow up in the future, but this will likely be fine.

Probably fine: First off, a simple cyst is just a small bag of fluid and is completely benign. A cyst with just a little calcium in the wall is also benign. If there begin to be larger weird looking chunky calcifications and solid components then its worrisome but sounds like that is not the case.

Stay calm: Renal cysts are incredibly common, and the vast majority are benign. Thin calcifications involving the cyst wall are still benign. The ct scan will provide a detailed picture of the cysts and its walls and allow an accurate diagnosis with assessment of risk. Some radiologists use the bosniak classification. Please see this link: http://radiopaedia.Org/articles/bosniak_renal_cyst_classification.

Cyst: You have a small cyst, and it is not unusual to find cyst on US. Calcification itself doesn't make it cancer. I would proceed with the CT if that what has been ordered, and then see a Urologist. Was simple or complex cyst on US? The CT should show simple vs other cyst. Best of luck.
