What sort of sensations will i feel during a liposuction ?

Minimal discomfort: There are several approaches to anesthesia for liposuction. Small areas can often be done under local "tumescent" anesthesia without medication. Most patients probably have a better experience with some sedation, which should be done in an accredited surgical facility. Regardless of the option, there should be minimal to no discomfort during the procedure and after.

My preference : I prefer that the patients feel nothing uncomfortable, so we use twilight anesthesia most of the time. In the long run most of the patients have appreciated it as well. Good luck from nyc.

Anesthesia?: If you have at least sedation anesthesia, you will feel practically nothing as you will be blissfully unaware. Local only cases are a bit harder to predict "feeling wise" as some of the areas might not be as numb as you would like. This is amongst the reasons i rarely do "local only" liposuction anymore.

Mild / no discomfort: I use local only tumescent only and most patient feel only light pressure and a gentle vibration from the suction . My patient report that this is not uncomfortable . [i have videos of conversations of many patient while the liposuction is going on my websites] a few report mild discomfort such as light burning when the anesthesia is administered.

Depends…: What you will feel and/or remember of a liposuction procedure will depend on the type of anesthesia used. Personally, i prefer the use of general anesthesia for most patients. Others, however use other types of anesthesia successfully.

Under: General anesthesia, nothing. Under local pressure, tickling sensation, and spotty areas of pain.

depends: Patient is under generalist easier, they generally do not have any feeling of discomfort. However some physicians perform liposuction with local anesthesia and some mild sedation. In this case you may feel some discomfort which can come from both the placement of the anesthesia, or the procedure itself.
