Cataract surgery can: Cause a small lowering of eye pressure in some patients (it's variable), and will essentially negate the risk of angle closure glaucoma (a specific type of glaucoma). By and large, this surgery is done to treat cataracts, though, and not for any preventive reasons.

No: Laser vision correction does not reduce your chances to get other eye problems like cataract, glaucoma, macular generation and so forth. People who have had laser vision correction should see their eye doctor on a regular basis to ensure good eye health.

Not really : If you are referring to LASIK, no. This procedure does not prevent glaucoma. If you are referring to cataract surgery, there are times that the intraocular pressure is sufficiently better to help protect the optic nerve. Also, the angle configuration of the eye may be substantially improved to help protect against acute glaucoma. But these don't necessarily prevent glaucoma.
