NO!: As a rule most iodine based substances are toxic to healing tissue. Chemically it is known as triiodomethane (chi3). Trivia: adolf hitlers mother died of iodoform poisoning. The exception to the rule is iodosorb which is cadexomer iodine. Obviously the two names produce some confusion.
