Special training: When skin is cut, the elastic nature pulls cut edges away from each other. With an "x" wound, you have corners pulling away creating an irregular wound. If in a location that people can see (face, neck, etc.) than a well trained plastic surgeon is needed to help find the best way to close it. If this is not feasible, then using modern wound healing wil get it to close but it may not be pretty.

Depends: If early on then surgical repair. If greater than 24 hrs then modern wound care techniques. Check your tetanus status.
