Usually: Emperic therapy for a typical tooth related infection includes the penicillin family initially. However the area should be monitored to make sure the drug is working and of course the underlying condition causing the infection needs to be addressed.

Yes: This antibiotic will work well for a tooth infection. However, penicillin or Clindamycin are usually the antibiotics of choice for tooth infection. Consult with your dentist.

Diclox is a medicine: In the pencillin family that is used to treat staphylococci. It's activity against other bugs may not be really good. Unless the dental infection is due to staph, there are better choices such as amoxicillin/clavulanate called Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) in the usa.
