See your dentist: It could be from an infected tooth or something else going on in the mouth or salivary glands. Starting with your dentist is a good idea.

Possibly: There are lots of reasons for jaw soreness including tooth abscess, gum infection, bruised muscle, joint dysfunction, virus, tonsillitis, ear infection, cardiac insufficiency, malocclusion, GERD, diabetes, and many other causes. You need to call your Dentist for a hands-on exam, possible x-rays, and appropriate treatment plan.

Possibly...: But why ask over the internet? No one can examine you, and that's what you need to get the proper diagnosis. Please call a local dentist to rule out any dental issues for your problem.

Possible: You could have an infected tooth, TMJ problem, salivary gland problem or other things going on. The only way to know the cause and to get treatment is by seeing a dentist who can diagnose your problem and recommend proper treatment. Don't wait.
