Tinnitus: If your tinnitus involves a ringing in your ear, that is a medical emergency. You need to see an ENT immediately. If treatment is delayed, in certain cases, permanent damage may result.

Probably: We often see tinnitus in TMD patients but the cause/effect of this phenomenon is not clear. If your tinnitus continues you should be evaluated by and ENT and audiologist as this can indicate many conditions, some of which are treatable.

Perhaps: Tinnitus common with TMJ. You could wait and see if tinnitus is improved with successful TMJ therapy If not, see ENT. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
