Uninsured patients: Best bet is to have it evaluated by a dentist. Try a local community health center or university affiliated teaching clinic. There usually is one near you that charges little to no cost to uninsured patients.

Dental school: Is there a dental school in your area--many times they will see patients are reduced or no cost. Check on this. Also you could call and dentist and just explain your situation-you might get help that way also, if not from that dentist, perhaps some information about dental clinics that might be available.
