I think i've had a lung infection for awhile but a few antibiotics hasn't see me to work. i was put on a different kind today; could a different antibiotic give better results? thanks.

Lung infection: You did not specify how long you have been sick but you should have had a chest x-ray done to confirm what "lung" infection you have. It it's a viral infection, you do not need another round of antibiotics. If you 've had a persistent cough, testing you for pertussis or whooping cough should also be done. The treatment for that condition is azithromycin, Clarithromycin or erythromycin.

Certain?: Has an infecting organism been isolated - several failed antibiotic courses may mean your symptoms are due to another cause - this possibilty is worth discussing with your doctor and potentially seeing a pulmonologist who can review your case.
