Solid nodule: There are limitation with cxr. It is a 2d so, depending on your position when you had the cxr taken ( lateral, ap ?) , the angle, etc, sometimes, it will be hard to say whether it is actually located where? Other imaging to evaluate the nodule in detail-like a ct scan of the chest would be a better and should be done. A pet scan should also be considered. I dont think it's from mastectomy's scar.

Need Further Work-Up: The chest wall refers to the ribcage and muscles that cover them; the lungs are within the rib cage. A solid nodule in either location, especially if it is new, requires further testing & possible biopsy to determine if it is cancerous or scar tissue; this should begin with a (pet) ct to determine exactly where this nodule is.
