Was diagnosed with breast cancer dcis left breast. chest x-ray shows focal parenchymal scarring base of left lung. no infiltrates. getting a ct scan next week. can this be cancer too ,or pulmonary fibrosis?

The chest X-ray finding is non specific, not consistent with either cancer or pulmonary fibrosis. That finding is more consistent with previous history of left lower lobe pneumonia or pleurisy in the past. You should not worry, get the CT chest done then have the breast cancer taken care. Good luck.
