Would anybody know if there are effective alternativies to cataract surgery?

Glasses or contacts: If changing glasses or contact lenses helps vision enough, then cataract surgery is not necessary. There is no other way to treat cataracts. Progression can be prevented by ultraviolet protection such as a hat or sunglasses.

No: There is no non-surgical treatment for cataracts. However cataract surgery is among the most effective surgeries done.

Cataract surgery: If your cataract is blocking vision, you need cataract surgery. There are not any alternatives.
