How effective is a patient's vision after cataract surgery?

Excellent.: Assuming there is no other eye disease and the surgery goes well without complications, your vision should be close to 20/20.

Depends!: Depends on any pre-existing conditions, surgical complications, if the eye is healed, and the accuracy of the lens implant power placed in the eye. If the eye is healthy and the surgery went well, most likely you should be able to see 20/20 with correction and quite often without correction. You may only need glasses for distance, near, both, or not at all.
