What is cataract surgery?

PROCEDURE BY WHICH: A small incision is made to remove an opacified, old lens and replace it with a clear new one.

Eye lens treatment: For various reasons the clear protein lens in the eye can becomes cloudy, reducing the amount of light reaching the back of the eye. The eye surgeon removes the cloudy lens, replacing it with a clear plastic lens. After the operation people report brighter colors, improved vision, and less problems driving at night.

Cataract surgery: Cataract surgery is removing the lens opacity (cataract) from inside the eye which is blocking vision and replacing it with a lens implant to restore vision.

Rapid procedure: Cataract surgery is a painless rapid recovery procedure that is outpatient and permanently cures tr patient of the cataract. There are now laser and traditional phaco procedures. The surgeon removes the cataract and replaces the lens implant not made of plastic but acrylic or silicone material.
