What are the signs of healing for wisdom teeth extraction?

It is Age related: The younger the person the less likely to have any long term consequences, thus should expect swelling, difficulty when opening his/her mouth, bleeding. For older patients the healing process takes longer and more signs & symptoms can be expected during the healing process: adding the ones mentioned above numbness, sensitivity on adjacent teeth, gum recession, incomplete healing (defects).

Less pain: Less pain, less swelling, less blending from extraction site, extraction sets start to close and fill in with gum tissue. Majority of healing usually happens in the first 5-7 days, ad then tissue finishes filling in over the next few weeks.

Fewer symptoms: Gradually decreasing pain and swelling. For best results, make sure your evaluation and procedure is done by a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon.
