A 19-year-old female asked:
When can i perform oral sex? i had 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and its been about 5 weeks. the hole where the extraction site was is no longer visible and tissue is healing over the site. am i still at risk of a dry socket?

Unlikely: Typically, in 4-5 weeks most extraction sites are closed. When the gum grows over the healing bone (in order to heal, the bone needs to be covered with clotted blood or gum or both) and the socket is all covered, the wound closure is complete. After the complete wound closure, the bone is safe. The oral tissue is very easy to get infected however, so general precaution for oral sex is a must!
