Varies: It is key to understand that hormone changes do not occur after removal of the uterus but rather after removal of the ovaries. If you still have your ovaries then you should not experience any hormonal changes. After removal of the ovaries menopause symptoms can occur almost immediately or not at all. For some the symptoms are severe enough to take estrogen replacement therapy.

Depends: If a hysterectomy (removing the uterus) is done and the ovaries are not removed, there should be no hormone changes. If the ovaries are removed & a woman is already menopausal, she is unlikely to notice changes. If she is premenopausal (still having periods), hot flashes may happen as soon as 3 to 4 days and will peak at 1 to 2 months. Treating with estrogen can avoid the symptoms.
