Depends: Technically, the term 'total hysterectomy' refers to removing the uterus and cervix only. However, if a woman has also had her tubes and ovaries removed, 'bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy', she could notice a change almost immediately if she is premenopausal, or not at all if she is menopausal.
