Renal pyelectases.: Fetal renal pyelectases are seen in 1-3% of all pregnancies and correlate with maternal diabetes mellitus, polyhydramnios, Down syndrome (weak association), urinary tract obstruction/stenosis and large fetuses. Seek genetic counseling and maternal-fetal medicine consultation to address the significance of this to your pregnancy. Get another u/s by 32 weeks and notify neonatology for postnatal u/s.

Probably benign: 6mm at 20 weeks is mild pyelectasis and likely regress to fail to enlarge significantly. Repeat us at 28 wks might help regarding ? Enlargement. Pelis diam up to 11 mm prenatally usually requires no treament. Worth getting post-natal us after 3 weeks + voiding cystourethrogram (bladder x-ray) to rule out significan t hydronephrosis or bladder reflux. Please keep calm, most likely not serious.

No question here: If you are asking "is there blockage in the ureter?" then the answer is possibly. Significant dilation in early gestation increases this risk. It is important to know that dilation (hydronephrosis) can occur without obstruction as well. If the amniotic fluid is low, see a pediatric urologist for prenatal consultation, particularly if you are having a boy (risk of urethral obstruction is high).
