A member asked:

I have been diagnosed with mild calyceal dilation in right kidney suggesting hydronephosis, a 4mm calculus at ureter bladder junction. is this serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: A Stone in the ureter can cause back pressure in the kidney which results in dilation of the collecting system. The kidney can tolerate this for relatively short periods of time however if this continues it can damage the kidney. I would suggest you consult a urologist.
