Are prenatal vitimins considered a calcium supplement?

Not alone: Most prenatal vitamins contain only small amounts of calcium (~300mg) because the calcium molecule is too big to put in a combination pill. You and your doctor will need to review your dietary calcium intake, and see whether you also need a calcium supplement in addition to your prenatal vitamin. Between diet & supplement you need 1000mg calcium/day. Can get in dairy products, leafy greens, etc.
