Work up: Varicose veins of the lower extremities can have various sources. The varicose veins are a result of pooling of blood with increased venous blood pressure. The best way to close the varicose veins can be determined on physical exam and a focus venous ultrasound examination by a physician skill in treating venous disease. Sclero or Laser : You can use a few different options. I feel that sclerotherapy is the best choice for spider veins on when they are on your legs. When they are located on other areas of the body you have some other choices such as radiofrequency device or lasers.

Depends: Spider veins on the face are probably best treated with laser although sclerotherapy works well too if the provider is experienced. Spider veins on the legs are best treated with sclerotherapy. Sometimes a combination of both is used on the legs, but sclerotherapy can treat veins of any size in the legs and laser is often not needed.

Sclero or laser.: Spider veins get their name because they look like spider legs. The short answer is that topical laser or sclerotherapy usually works well. The longer answer is that if you have many spider veins and/or combinations of spiders, reticulars and varicose veins then you should first have a venous reflux exam. You should see a vein specialist.

Spider veins: Are not varicose veins! occasionally they coexist but mostly they are on their own. If that is the case no ultrasound is needed. Test is done only for financial gains! the treatment for spider of the leg is sclerotherapy and the face lasers.

Combination: Compression stockings help them from progressing. Sclerotherapy or laser can help eradicate them. I'm partial to sclerotherapy.
