YES: Varicose vein & spider veins are a typically a gentically acquired problem (weakened valves within the leg veins) & can appear very early in life. I have treated many patients in the teens and twenties. They get worse the longer you live with them (due to the gravity affect on the faulty valves). Use compression stockings & seek opinion from a board-certified vascular surgeon who treats veins.

Leaking valves: Varicose veins are a very common problem and they are due to leaking valves (called reflux) usually in the saphenous veins.
